Joe Amaral believes in ideas. Not just any idea…but ideas that build business. Throughout his career, Joe has been fanatical about taking the most complex business growth challenges and distilling them into national and international marketing and advertising initiatives which customers understand, crave and buy. The underpinning of all Joe’s campaigns is the critical and specific customer insight which positions the product or service uniquely from its competition.
Joe leads our creative team in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that drive topline business performance for our clients. He brings an impressive track record of successful marketing and lead generation programs across diverse industry categories, using traditional and non-traditional channels including inbound, outbound, digital and direct.
Joe is no stranger to building his clients’ businesses. Prior to joining the 5th business® group of companies, Joe was vice president and group creative director at Cossette Communications Group and creative director at TBWA/Toronto. During his tenure, he drove brand performance and increased sales for McDonald’s, Infiniti, Petro-Canada, Visa, Bell Mobility, Bank of Bermuda, Mars and IKEA, just to name a few.
His career highlights include developing a multi-year lead generation campaign for Bell Internet which helped them establish share in the Canadian small business market and as a result, pushed them to #1 in their service and product offerings. Joe’s other accomplishments include substantially increasing new car sales for Nissan through campaigns targeting fleet buyers as well as achieving record sales for Panasonic security cameras.
With over two hundred television commercials on his impressive resume and his creative results-driven approach, Joe has been honoured with almost every prestigious industry award imaginable. These include multiple Cannes Lions, Clio, ADCC, Communication Arts, Eyeblaster Digital, Art Directors Club of Canada, Marketing Awards and Bessie Awards. Strategy Magazine has also ranked Joe as one of the top 25 creative directors in Canada.
